Hi guys. How are you Dears?Whenever heart disease is diagnosed its nature and degree must be assessed with meticulous accuracy in order to decide whether any treatment is necessary. There are many structural defects of such slight degree that no treatment is indicated other than reassurance. Much unwarranted anxiety is engendered by failure to take sufficient care to explain the position in detail both to the patient and relatives. Restriction and drugs are rarely required unless exertion results in dyspepsia or pain. However, certain disorders, such as valvular disease and hypertension, are in time potential causes of heart failure. This eventuality may be prevented or at least postponed by suitable advice with regard to occupation, the limitation of physical activities and the reduction of obesity. The development of a serious degree of cardiac failure may be avoided or minimized by early recognition of its clinical manifestations and prompt treatment.
Whenever possible, treatment should be directed towards the underlying cause or precipitating factor, e.g. thyrotoxicosis, syphilis, anemia, pregnancy, acute respiratory infections, diphtheria or extreme tachycardia. In addition certain condition such as congenital defects, acquired valvular disease and constrictive percarditis are sometimes amenable to surgical treatment. Thanks guys.
